Description: Early Fijian pole club. Carved from a dense wood this straight shafted pole club flares slightly towards the rounded head. A rare element to this piece is the Maori carving at the base of the handle comprising panels of triple haehae lines and dragon tooth notching.


Provenance: Formerly in the collection of the missionary Annie Farnsworth (1850-1948).
