Description: An early Massim fighting club with stylised snake to the handle. The carving across the handle and blade is well executed with the remnants of lime infill evident.
Provenance: An accession number from the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology is located on the handle that reads ‘P/4?79’ with a further accession number on the blade that reads ‘1542/675’. A good 19th century example with a dark brown patina.
