Description: A very rare and early paddle form Fijian club. The handle is round in cross-section leading to an ovoid cross-section blade. Vertical rows of tavatava design to the handle with four horizontal rows at the interface of the handle and blade, all of which is very worn. It is a heavy club carved from a hard wood and has a very rich and dark reddish brown patina.
