Description

19th century Samoan club. The head is carved into the shape of a nine-pointed star and ridges to the handle. A similar type of club is identified as Tongan in the book Polynesia (A.Kaepplar), however several examples in the British Museum and the Pitt Rivers Museum identify the origin of this type of club as Samoan.
