An early Tongan Kali Laloni headrest. Carved from three pieces of wood bound by coir sennit. Two labels read ‘Tongan Pillow’

Provenance

From an early 20th century cabinet of curiosities collection that had objects from all over the world including Polynesian items such as Tongan and Fijian Tapa and a Wallis and Fortuna salatasi.
